Children’s Eye Care |
It is highly recommended by the American Optometry Association that children be seen by an optometrist prior to their school age particularly at age five when they enter school. A thorough eye examination is especially essential during the years of rapid growth for the diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision problems.

Laser Corrective Surgery |
Laser vision corrective surgery is one of the newest options for vision correction without the use of glasses or contact lenses. LASIK surgery can treat myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia most often with outstanding results. At Chino Hills Family Optometry, we co-manage refractive surgery and can help patients make the correct decision for each individual case. Frame Selection |
At the end of the eye exam, Dr. Pan will select the most appropriate lens type such as single vision, bifocal or progressive design. As you proceed to the frame selection area, our technicians will assist you in choosing the best material for your needs. They will consider your prescription, lifestyle and discuss all your options to ensure you receive the best eyewear to meet your needs. It is important to keep in mind that the frame selection is most comfortable for you. For example, the ophthalmic frame shape should line up with the face and the lens patterns need to compensate with your facial features.
Our office stays on top of current fashion trends by offering many of the most popular designer lines. One of the latest trends is small and ultra-thin, with an emphasis on high-tech metals like titanium and memory metals. A good example of such frame is the Silhouette. Plastic frames are also making a comeback in small geometric shapes and dynamic layered colors. Almost every major fashion designer has developed an eyewear line that reflects their personal ideas about style.
Our frame selections include a wide range of styles and designs. Women generally choose from designs by Gucci, Donna Karan, Valentino, Vogue, DKNY, Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Nine West, Fendi, Kate Spade, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Anne Klein, and Saks Fifth Ave. Men will be more attracted to eyewear by Brooks Brother, Carrera, Nautica, Superthin, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Ray Ban, and Oakley. Many of the fashions are unisex which increases the variety you may choose from. We also have a broad selection of children's frames from Disney & Co., Firefly, Calvin Klein, Marchon, and Nike Flexon to name a few. We are pleased to be able to offer a diverse collection of frames to fit the needs of everyone in your family.

Lens Options |
Years ago lenses were thick and heavy. Today we have the latest in technology in lens design. Whether you need single vision lenses for driving or reading, progressive (no-line) bifocals for general wear, specially designed computer use eyewear, or safety eyewear for sports; the options are endless.
There are a few basic types of lens material: glass, plastic (CR39), polycarbonate, and high-index lenses.
Glass is the most scratch resistant of all the materials. Its great disadvantage is its weight. It is much heavier than plastic or polycarbonate. The additional weight can be very uncomfortable for most people after a full day of wearing glasses.
Polycarbonate is well known for the lightweight and most impact resistant lens material. It is safest lens available and is always recommended for children. One of the disadvantages is that some people experience distortions with the higher prescriptions.
High-Index is thinner and lighter lenses and is recommended for high pwer prescriptions in order to reduce the thickness of the lenses. It also enhances the cosmetic look particularly in the high minus powers.
An anti-reflective coating is a film coated on the surfaces of the lenses which improves night vision by reducing headlight glare, reducing eyestrain caused by glare from computer screens. It will also improve the cosmetics of your glasses
Photochromatic lenses will change color from light to dark depending on the amount of exposure to sunlight. It helps protect the eyes from damaging UV rays and glare.
Progressive Lenses "also called no-line bifocals" correct vision for two or three different distances without the visible segment lines seen in bifocal or trifocal lenses. These lenses offer a continuous, gradual change in prescription strength to correct for all distances "reading, intermediate, and distance".
